Variety is the spice of life and sex with the same partner in the same position can be as monotonous and boring. Frank Beach, a fellow of the American Psychological Association, did a series of interesting experiments on mating behavior in animals. He found that if a male rat was placed with an estrual female and allowed to mate freely he eventually tired and the interval between ejacularions became progressively longer. But if the exhausted male was offered a new estrual female, he immediately for a while resumed copulation (though this did not last long). Similar behavior was noted in male rhesus monkeys. About human beings Frank Beach says, Men often report dramatic increases in sexual ability when they change partners. In some countries, swapping of partners is done regularly to introduce an element of variety in sex. It is therefore vital that both husband and wife should introduce as many variations as possible in foreplay and intercourse techniques to avoid boredom, in our monogamous society.

A couple should only indulge in positions they find easy and enjoyable. The three main positions are: (1) man on top or missionary position, (2) woman on top and 3)Rear entry position. Needless to say, there are different attitudes or variations in each of these positions to enhance erotic pleasure and increase the Joy of union.
